How ChargeLog works

The instrument, explained part by part: what gets recorded when you plug in, how a curve becomes phases, where the estimates come from, and what stays on your phone — which is everything.

ChargeLog is in pre-alpha, so this handbook is short and it will change. What is here is held to the same rule as the app: every sentence is checked against the code before it ships, and re-audited as the app changes. Last audit: September 2026.

  1. Recording

What happens when you plug in: the recording service, what every sample carries, and the one quiet notification.

  2. The five phases

Ramp, peak, stepdown, CV taper, trickle — how ChargeLog segments a charging session's power curve into phases.

  3. Estimates & learning

How ChargeLog builds charge-time estimates from your own sessions — and why it refuses to print a number it cannot stand behind.

  4. Battery helpers

Keep a floor, Charged by a time, Get me to a time — reminders that plan charging around your day, each off until you turn it on.

  5. Your data

Where ChargeLog sessions are stored, what you can export, delete, and import — and why nothing leaves your phone.
